It's made from corn...it must be good, right?!

I am getting so sick and tired of these commercials that are PROMOTING High Fructose Corn Syrup as if -"it's not harmful at all, those people claiming it is are just being silly"....What a joke! Hmmmmm, maybe they were noticing that people were tired of being tired and run down by their product. Maybe they were starting to notice that they were losing money because people have started buying organic or growing their own to stay away from HFCS. So now they are trying to step it up and convince the public that "it's ok, really, just eat it!" It is not the same as fructose, it is a combination of fructose and glucose. (As far as I know. Jason could tell you more.) What I do know is that even if you are not aware of the scientific facts, you can see the common sense facts everyday. If you buy a lot of pre--packaged foods, proccessed foods, candy, soft drinks, etc...you are consuming large amounts of HFCS maybe multiple times each day. Have you noticed how our health just keeps diminishing? Look back down the generations and see if you can see a difference...they were much healthier than we are now. Their food was homegrown, organic, fresh. No preservatives, no HFCS, not loaded down with sugars and fats. The downfall of earlier generations was not their choice in food, but their choice in extra curricular activities such as smoking and drinking. They actually ate much better than we do now. It's so much easier for us to buy Stouffer's premade meals and just heat them up, or Weight Watchers, or any of the stuff you can find in your local freezer section. And don't even get me started on the "Complete Meals". Oh yes, I am guilty! I know what I am doing, I know better than what I am doing. And believe me, I feel the guilt. I also feel the drain, the lag, the sluggish fatigue feeling. I can sometimes feel my arteries clogging, my heart hurting trying to keep up and work the sludge through my body. When I was vegetarian, (before getting pregnant), I felt like I was walking on clouds. None of the problems that I have now. I ate fresh veggies and fruits. That was it. I felt wonderful, clean, guilt-free. I will be going back to that as soon as I can after giving birth. So will my girls. Johnnie will not get on board with that one, he's a meat eater through and through. Anyway, I have found some articles if you'd like to read more about HFCS. And I will continue to look for articles about food now VS food then. I promise you there is a huge difference.
