Falling Down...

Have you ever seen the movie 'Falling Down' with Michael Douglas? There's this scene where he goes into a fast food joint and he orders a burger from the pictures on the menu in front of him. When he gets it, it's all squished and the burger is hanging off of the bun, looks nothing like the advertised picture. He goes off! He's got a gym bag full of guns so he starts waving one.

Right this moment I understand and know exactly what he is talking about. If I had a gym bag full of guns, I'd be waving one. LOL. I have been craving a whopper from BK for a while now. (Craved meat this whole pregnancy, not sure why). I finally get here, order it and have taken a few bites when I realize it doesn't taste how I remember. I look down and the meat doesn't look fully cooked. I often find this problem with my meat, so I don't know if it's just me, but I want mine well done...no mooing left in it please. When I see this, it grosses me out and I can't bring myself to take another bite. Such a disappointment.

Not to mention the service is absolutely awful. There is this one lady here at our local BK that always has a bad attitude. She is openly rude and acts as if each customer is a hassle and a burden on her day.

I once complained to her manager, and the manager backed this lady up and was even more rude than the employee I was complaining about! Whatever happened to "The customer is always right."? Can we even get a partially right nowadays? How is it that when your employee is rude, I can not get a positive response out of the manager?!

Anyway, so due to this, I will not go back up and ask them to cook my burger before wrapping it and handing it to me. I know they will spit in it, rub it somewhere they shouldn't or drop it on the floor. So for now, I will sit here and enjoy my onion rings and my coke. That whopper sure would have been nice though.

She probably told them not to cook it fully because she got mad that I was using a coupon "Buy one whopper, get one free", so I could take one home for Johnnie. She was most unhappy with that.

Why is it that people in Fast Food jobs are so miserable that they can not be courteous and friendly to people that are not being rude in the first place? I know they do not make a lot of money, but they did in fact choose to fill out the application, knowing they would make minimum wage, in a fast paced, high demand job. So I must ask, if you are so unhappy with your job that you must treat your customers badly, why are you here? Go home. Try another field.

Another issue I have is the pulling cars up. This is FAST FOOD! As advertised on your doors, signs and windows. So why then, almost every time I go through a fast food drive-thru, do I and all the cars in front of me as well as behind me, get asked to pull into a parking spot to wait for my food, or asked to pull up beyond the window and sit patiently? Then! Oh yeah! Then, they get my food to me and it's all wrong! OMG! I get so mad when they do this. It is actually a sweet surprise when my order is all there. That's just sad. I am the woman that will go home and write an email to the Corp. Office too. It never has a positive outcome. They do not reply and nothing is ever done to improve the experience at their restaurant. What are they for other than to collect our money? They certainly are not concerned with customer satisfaction now are they?

The one place I have found that will actually treat you nicely and correct their wrongs, which are few and far between, is Chick-Fil-A. They are amazing!! They may be a little more expensive, but dang! they are worth every penny! Never get pulled up, almost never get the order wrong and the service is incredible! I love that place. Too bad I only crave it on Sundays...go figure!
